price on a root canal

I had an infection in one of my molars and went In to the dentist. I am In need of a root canal. He drilled out the old filling etc. and put In a temporary filling.I could not afford the cost of a root canal and crown. However I do have a care credit card for $1,000.I heard an ad on the radio that said, a free crown with 12,000 worth of woek. Is this the right dentist office for that ad? And If so, what would the cost of a root cananl be? Thanks Laura
